The armed forces across India observed International Yoga Day with extensive celebrations, spanning diverse terrains from the Siachen Glacier to naval platforms. Raja Subramani led events in Delhi, while Army Chief General Upendra Dwivedi joined troops in Tezpur, Assam.
This year's theme, 'Yoga for Healthy Ageing,' focused on yoga's importance for all ages. Soldiers performed yoga in challenging locations like the Rann of Kutch and the northeast, demonstrating their commitment to physical fitness and mental well-being. The Army hosted a large event at Delhi Cantonment, attended by over 3,500 participants, including foreign defence attaches.
Naval platforms and Indian Coast Guard ships also joined the festivities at sea and in harbour. The Indian Coast Guard held coordinated sessions along the nation's coastline and islands, with a central event in Noida. The Indian Air Force organized multiple events across its commands, from Leh to Car Nicobar, reinforcing yoga's role in enhancing operational effectiveness and promoting a healthy lifestyle.
