On Saturday, the 69th Mahaparinirvan Diwas of Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar saw thousands of devoted followers gather at Nagpur's Deekshabhoomi. Visitors from across Maharashtra and neighboring states paid homage, transforming the site into a sea of white as they arrived to honor the revered leader.
Various organizations, including the Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar Smarak Samiti and Akhil Bharatiya Dhammasena, led ceremonies offering floral tributes and conducted Buddha Vandana. A notable 'Blood For Babasaheb' initiative organized its annual blood donation drive, establishing twelve centers in Nagpur and expanding the campaign to six other countries to spread Ambedkar's message.
Rashtrasant Tukadoji Maharaj Nagpur University also held a tribute event. Vice-Chancellor Dr. Manali Kshirsagar underscored the enduring relevance of Dr. Ambedkar's educational vision, stating that his philosophy continues to guide society towards empowerment and that translating his thoughts into action serves as the best tribute.
