Nita Ambani recently inaugurated the foundation stone for Nita Mukesh Ambani Anant Ashray, a significant 100-acre care township in Karjat, Maharashtra. This phased, not-for-profit institution, established by Reliance Foundation, is designed to offer lifelong homes to more than 5,000 individuals, including orphaned children, senior citizens, and people with developmental disabilities.
The township will feature eight residential villages, each with family-style homes, supported by caregivers. It will also house a specialized hospital, rehabilitation facilities, and vocational training centers. The project aims to create a supportive community with ample opportunities for education, work, and recreation.
Beyond its residents, the initiative is expected to benefit approximately 15,000 people, including staff and their families. Outreach programs, mobile clinics, and vocational training will extend support to surrounding areas, impacting an estimated 1,000 people from neighboring districts.
