13 Oct
Summary
- No loud sound systems and DJs in crowded puja areas.
- CCTV cameras, adequate lighting, and volunteers are mandatory.
- Vehicle entry restrictions will be enforced from October 17 to 21.
The West Tripura district administration has introduced stringent safety and crowd-management protocols for the upcoming Durga Puja celebrations. Measures include a ban on high-volume sound systems and DJ boxes in crowded areas to protect vulnerable populations. Puja committees are now required to install CCTV cameras, ensure sufficient lighting, and deploy volunteers to assist festivalgoers.
Organizers must also arrange for backup power supply through inverters or generators, with emergency lighting as an alternative. Distinctive identification for volunteers and prominent display of emergency contact numbers are mandated. Vehicle movement will be restricted from October 17 to 21, between 5 pm and 1 am, with specific entry permits required.
To further enhance public safety, medical teams will be deployed at key locations during idol immersion. Additionally, hospital outpatient departments across the state will operate on select dates, October 19, 22, and 24, ensuring medical accessibility throughout the festival period.
