Four puppies were discovered abandoned near busy motorways in Hertfordshire, sparking concern from local authorities. The Patterdale crossbreeds were found in two separate incidents close to the M1 and M25, a short drive apart.
These vulnerable animals exhibited clear signs of neglect, including skin infections, worms, and significant fur loss, necessitating immediate veterinary attention. Authorities have emphasized that such acts are not only inhumane but also illegal.
Following their rescue and treatment, two of the four puppies have been successfully rehomed through Battersea Dogs & Cats Home. The remaining two are currently recovering in kennels. The local council is appealing for public assistance to identify those responsible for abandoning the dogs.
