Two vulnerable piglets, named Emma and Ellie, were found abandoned along a driveway in Glastonbury on February 13th. They were rescued by the RSPCA in a severely underweight and distressed condition, crying out from hunger.
Following a month of dedicated care, including proper food and clean bedding, the three-month-old sisters have made a remarkable transformation. They have now settled into a new permanent home at Bicton Agricultural College, near Exeter.
Emma and Ellie are now part of The Animal Zone, sharing their habitat with other rescued pigs. College staff have welcomed them, noting they have quickly become favorites. Their new home will also serve an educational purpose, integrating them into the curriculum to teach students about the complex nature of pigs.
