Abandoned Bunnies Found Near Dumpster Receive Loving Care
26 Oct
Summary
- Four young bunnies were found abandoned in a box near a rescue's dumpster.
- The animals were extremely thin, dehydrated, and suffering from ear mites.
- The rescue estimates over $1,400 in expenses for medical care and feeding.
On October 19, a worker discovered a cardboard box with four 5-month-old bunnies left near the trash cans of Dolly's Dream Home Rabbit Rescue. The box contained a note reading "Sorry. Take Care!" Inside, the rabbits were found to be extremely thin, dehydrated, and suffering from ear mites.
The rescue organization highlighted the danger of leaving animals unattended outside their facility, noting the rabbits were likely alive only due to the worker's timely arrival. They emphasized that this act was not a surrender but a gamble with the animals' lives, as the facility was closed.
The unexpected additions, collectively named "The Disneys" (Epcot, Dole Whip, Figment, and Magic Kingdom), will require significant resources. Dolly's Dream Home estimates that basic rescue expenses, including parasite treatment, food, and spay/neuter surgeries, will easily exceed $1,400. The rescue is appealing to the public for donations to provide the necessary care.
