Summary
- A woman walked 75 miles over two days to fund church heating repairs.
- The church needs over £7,000 for heating system repairs.
- She was inspired by the church welcoming her same-sex wedding.

Katie Simpson recently completed an arduous 75-mile walk across two days to support vital repairs at Christ Church in Fenton, Stoke-on-Trent. The challenge, which began on July 3rd, involved walking to Prestatyn, Denbighshire, with an overnight stop in Chester. The Grade II-listed church is facing an estimated cost of over £7,000 for essential repairs to its heating system, including the flue pipe.
Simpson found the journey extremely taxing, both physically and emotionally, experiencing significant leg pain. Despite the hardships, including a hotel without a lift, she was motivated by the church's welcoming embrace of her same-sex wedding. This gesture stood in contrast to other venues that had refused her. To date, Simpson has raised more than £1,200, a contribution that will greatly assist the church in preparing for the autumn and winter months.
