Summary

- The books were originally taken out by a grandfather in 1910.
- A penny-per-week fine was to be charged for overdue books.
A set of library books, overdue by an astonishing 116 years, has finally been returned.
The volumes, Milton's "Paradise Lost" and Shakespeare's "King Lear", were borrowed in 1910 from the Llanrwst Reading Room & Library in Conwy county. Peter O'Sullivan recently brought them back, explaining they belonged to his grandfather, Walter Griffith Owen.
Records indicate the books were meant to be lent for one week, with a fee of one penny per week for extensions. O'Sullivan noted the significant number of weeks the books were out, humorously contemplating the potential fine.
