19-Year-Old's Organs Save Four Lives

In a compassionate act, the organs of 19-year-old Jasliya Johnson, declared brain dead on Tuesday, have given the gift of life to four individuals. Her family's decision to donate her organs was facilitated by the Kerala State Organ and Tissue Transplant Organisation (K-SOTTO).
Jasliya's liver was transplanted into a patient at Rajagiri Hospital. Her kidneys found new purpose at Kottayam Medical College, and her corneas were donated to the Angamaly Eye Bank Association of Kerala, offering sight to others.
A native of Edavanakkad, Vypeen, Ernakulam, Jasliya was a second-year B.Com student. She tragically met with an accident on February 28 while returning from her part-time job.
Separately, an organ donation awareness program was organized by the Women Sub Committee of the All India Lawyers Union as part of International Women's Day celebrations. Around 20 lawyers pledged their organs, aiming to encourage more people to consider donation.
