YCMH Hospital Overhaul: Super-Specialty Services Coming Soon

Yashwantrao Chavan Memorial Hospital (YCMH) in Pune is undergoing a significant transformation aimed at enhancing patient care and accessibility. Officials announced major plans to introduce super-specialty services, a facility currently in limited supply at the public hospital.

Following a recent inspection by municipal commissioner Vijay Suryawanshi, the Pimpri-Chinchwad Municipal Corporation is consulting with private medical organizations and the Indian Medical Association to establish a panel of experts. This collaboration aims to bring advanced medical treatments within reach of public hospital patients.

Key facility expansions are also on the agenda, notably the dialysis unit, which will increase from its current eight beds to approximately twenty to meet rising demand. The hospital administration is also addressing infrastructure deficiencies, including expediting the modernization of its aging lift systems.
