Summary
- Emma Jones suffers from 30mm eye cysts, losing 90% of her vision.
- Her mother declined surgery three times, discovered after her death.
- Emma is now crowdfunding for travel costs to London for potential surgery.

Emma Jones, a 28-year-old woman, faces immense suffering and significant vision loss due to rare congenital eye cysts. These cysts, some as large as two pence coins, have reduced her sight to just 10%.
Born with Frontonasal Dysplasia, Emma has lived with these painful growths since childhood, enduring bullying and public scrutiny. The cysts prevent her from closing her eyes and cause constant agony, significantly impacting her quality of life and ability to sleep.
Disturbingly, Emma learned after her mother's passing in December 2023 that surgery to remove the cysts was declined three times during her adolescence. This revelation, made while applying for benefits due to her inability to work, has left Emma feeling furious and regretful.
Following recent consultations, specialists have indicated that surgery might be feasible this year. Emma requires three pre-operative tests at Moorfields Eye Hospital in London, but cannot travel alone due to her legal blindness. She is currently crowdfunding to cover the £150 train ticket costs for each of the three necessary trips.
