Woman Carries 18lb Ovarian Cyst, Doctors Advised Exercise
29 Oct
Summary
- An 18lb ovarian cyst compressed a woman's organs for years.
- Doctors initially advised exercise and weight loss for symptoms.
- Surgery successfully removed the massive cyst and fallopian tube.

Michella Giunta recently shared her remarkable experience with an 18lb ovarian cyst on Instagram. For years, she endured symptoms that doctors attributed to her body type, advising her to exercise and drink water. Unaware of the growing mass, Giunta continued her fitness routine.
Her journey took a turn when a CT scan revealed an 18lb ovarian cyst, measuring 35cm long and compressing her organs significantly. Giunta described her situation as feeling nine months pregnant and humorously hosted a "gender reveal" for the cyst, which was likened to carrying twins.
Giunta's surgery involved the removal of her left ovary and fallopian tube due to the cyst and discovered endometriosis. The laparoscopic procedure successfully removed the 18lb cyst, which contained over eight liters of fluid. Post-surgery, Giunta reported a 20lb weight loss.
