- The treatment is unavailable through the NHS.
- She was diagnosed with aggressive glioblastoma two years ago.

A 51-year-old woman has sold her house to afford potentially life-extending treatment for an aggressive form of brain cancer, as it is not available on the NHS. Jo Fuller described selling her home as one of the hardest decisions she has made, viewing the treatment as her last hope.
The Brain Tumour Research charity is calling for government investment in research and greater access to clinical trials. They emphasize that patients should not be forced into such difficult financial decisions.
Fuller, a dyslexia specialist from Nottinghamshire, was diagnosed with glioblastoma approximately two years ago while on holiday in Australia. She experienced a seizure and stopped breathing on Boxing Day, leading to her diagnosis and an emergency brain surgery in Australia.
She returned to the UK three and a half months later to undergo radiotherapy and chemotherapy. The government acknowledged that more needs to be done and stated they are supporting groundbreaking trials to improve outcomes for brain tumor patients.
