A shocking incident unfolded in Nandwal village where a 34-year-old woman, Nankai Kumari, allegedly performed a self-induced Cesarean section due to unbearable labor pain. The woman, widowed six months prior, was alone with her four sons when the ordeal began.
Seeking relief from excruciating pain, she reportedly used a vegetable-cutting knife on her abdomen, causing a deep wound and protruding intestines. Alerted by her cries, villagers found her critically injured and rushed her to a Community Health Centre.
Medical professionals there managed an emergency normal delivery, resulting in the birth of a healthy baby girl. However, due to the severity of her abdominal injuries, Nankai Kumari was transferred to the district hospital and subsequently to KGMU Trauma Centre in Lucknow for advanced treatment.
