Abandoned Mom Gives Birth Alone on Train

A woman, alleging abandonment by her husband who reportedly eloped with another woman, gave birth on a train. She endured labour pains for nearly four hours before being assisted by Government Railway Police (GRP) personnel and admitted to the district women's hospital in Gorakhpur.

Initially, the new mother refused to accept her baby boy, but hospital staff provided counseling, leading her to agree to nurse the newborn. The domestic help from Delhi expressed her determination to raise her child independently, ensuring the father's influence remains absent from the child's life.

The in-charge of the district hospital stated that both mother and child are receiving complete care and support. They will be discharged once the baby's health improves. The incident highlights the challenges faced by vulnerable women and the crucial role of support systems.
