A tragic incident at Sanjay Gandhi Memorial Hospital in Rewa has led to the death of a 25-year-old woman and her unborn child during her first delivery. Kalpana Mishra, a resident of Baikunthpur village, was reportedly seen in a video hours before her passing, distressed and seeking assistance. She expressed fears of being harmed due to the alleged treatment.
Following the surfacing of this video, hospital authorities took immediate action. Dean Dr. Sunil Agrawal suspended two doctors, Dr. Sonal Agrawal and Dr. Nidhi Pandey, along with two nursing staff members. The hospital superintendent, Dr. Rahul Mishra, stated that the woman's condition was poor from the outset, possibly due to high blood pressure, and cited her limited prenatal check-ups.
However, the woman's father, Ramsharan Mishra, disputed these claims, asserting his daughter was active until shortly before her death and that negligence was the cause. He has called for action against the hospital administration. An inquiry has been ordered to ascertain the exact cause of death.
