Woman with 36M breasts crowdfunding for surgery

Melissa Ashcroft, a 30-year-old mother from Scotland, endures significant daily pain because of her 36M natural breasts, some of the largest in Britain. This condition makes simple tasks like getting out of bed a struggle, taking her an hour each morning and preventing her from lifting her eight-month-old daughter. She has suffered back pain since puberty, describing her back as feeling like a 70-year-old's.

Initially, Melissa was advised by her GP to postpone a breast reduction until after she had breastfed her children. Following the birth of her two children, she was informed by the NHS that her BMI of 35 is too high, and she must achieve a BMI of 27 to qualify for surgery. This news came despite her ongoing pain and inability to exercise effectively due to her physical limitations.

Unable to meet the NHS criteria and experiencing debilitating pain, Melissa has turned to crowdfunding, aiming to raise £8,000 for private surgery. This procedure would alleviate her physical discomfort, enable her to engage more fully with her children, and improve her overall quality of life. She hopes the private option will bypass the BMI restrictions imposed by the NHS.
