Wolverhampton Liver Scans: New Dates Announced
21 Jan
Summary
- Health scans for liver disease are continuing in Wolverhampton.
- About 1,500 checks have already been conducted since 2024.
- New clinics are scheduled at Bilston Health Centre and Good Shepherd.

A vital scheme providing free liver disease health scans within Wolverhampton communities is set to continue, with new dates now available for testing.
Since its commencement in 2024, the initiative has successfully carried out around 1,500 FibroScan tests. These non-invasive scans, which use a probe similar to an ultrasound, help identify scarring and fat accumulation in the liver.
Upcoming clinics are scheduled for Thursday at Bilston Health Centre and Bilston Family Practice, followed by sessions on Friday at the Good Shepherd charity base. The program aims to detect conditions like alcohol-related liver disease early.
