She reported suffering from severe suicidal depression, which she described as the worst she had experienced since 2020, after taking the drug obtained from a Nashville wellness center. Despite experiencing initial weight loss, the mental health side effects were so profound that she felt a complete lack of emotion and joy.

Lilly, the pharmaceutical company developing retatrutide, confirmed that the drug is an investigational molecule and is legally accessible only to participants in their clinical trials. They issued a strong warning against using any substance claiming to be retatrutide outside of these trials, clarifying that Bunnie's experience was not with a legitimate Lilly product. Experts, including Dr. Marc Siegel, have noted that retatrutide, a triple agonist, has potential links to depression and suicidal thoughts, similar to other GLP-1 drugs.
