The Wegovy daily tablet is now available in the UK, offering a pill form of the popular weight loss injection. This launch is expected to significantly boost demand for the treatment. Pharmacies are preparing for a surge, particularly from patients who prefer not to use injectable medicines.

The Medicines and Health products Regulatory Agency licensed the Wegovy pill for sale via private prescriptions starting today, July 6, 2026. The National Health Service is still reviewing whether to offer it. Starter pills are estimated to cost between £80 to £100 monthly, with higher doses exceeding £200.
