Summary
- Two Wegmans mixed nut products recalled due to possible Salmonella contamination.
- Affected products are 34-oz tubs and 11.5-oz bags with specific lot numbers.
- Customers can return recalled nuts for a full refund at any store location.

A significant recall has been issued by grocery chain Wegmans for two of its popular mixed nut products due to concerns over possible Salmonella contamination. The affected items include both 34-ounce tubs and 11.5-ounce bags of Deluxe Unsalted Mixed Nuts, identified by specific UPCs, "Best By" dates, and lot numbers. The chain has not detailed how the contamination occurred but highlighted the health risks associated with Salmonella.
Salmonella infection, known as Salmonellosis, can lead to serious health issues including fever, diarrhea, and stomach cramps. While most cases resolve on their own, infants, the elderly, and individuals with compromised immune systems are at higher risk for severe complications. Wegmans is urging customers who purchased the affected products to discontinue their use immediately.
As a precautionary measure, Wegmans is offering full refunds for all recalled nut products. Customers can return the nuts to any store service desk, regardless of whether the packaging has been opened. While no illnesses have been reported in connection with this recall to date, the company is taking swift action to remove the products from store shelves.
