A wedding ceremony in Nazare Supe and Somurdi villages recently led to a widespread food poisoning incident. Hundreds of guests attended the event on May 3, with many falling ill later that night. Symptoms included vomiting, diarrhea, nausea, and abdominal pain.
At least 28 guests were hospitalized, while 38 others received outpatient treatment. The affected individuals had consumed food items such as rabdi and gulab jamun. Health teams from Belsar and Garade were dispatched to provide immediate care, with severely ill patients transferred to hospitals in Saswad and private facilities.
Somurdi village reported the highest number of cases, with 31 individuals affected and 20 requiring hospitalization. Twelve guests from Nazare Supe were managed with outpatient care. Health officials confirmed that most patients are now stable, and no new cases have been reported, indicating the situation is under control.
