Victoria Schofield, known as Vicky, was a dedicated speech and language therapist who passed away in 2025 at the age of 32, shortly after being diagnosed with oesophageal cancer. Despite her own battle, her thoughts remained focused on the well-being of her loved ones.
In her final weeks, Vicky herself proposed the establishment of a foundation to support individuals facing terminal illnesses and their families, as well as those working in palliative care. This initiative was born from her profound concern for others.
Her family is now working to bring this foundation to fruition, building on Vicky's own fundraising efforts. Before her passing, she had already raised over £70,000 for St Gemma's Hospice and Leeds Teaching Hospitals Trust.
Fundraising activities are ongoing, including a recent 200 km cycle ride and efforts to fund a memorial bench. These events honor Vicky's love for an active lifestyle and her desire to make a positive impact.
