Vaping Linked to Higher Heart Attack Risk
5 Mar
Summary
- Regular vaping may significantly increase the risk of high blood pressure.
- Smokers and vapers showed significantly higher blood pressure than non-smokers.
- Initiating vaping as an adolescent increases likelihood of smoking cigarettes.

Regular vaping may significantly elevate the risk of high blood pressure, a primary contributor to heart attacks and strokes, according to a recent study published in the American Journal of Physiology. The research analyzed data from over 6,000 participants and found that individuals who vaped or smoked exhibited considerably higher blood pressure levels compared to non-users.
Specifically, the study indicated that those who exclusively vaped had a 15% increased risk of elevated blood pressure. Researchers also noted that adolescents initiating vaping are four times more likely to begin smoking conventional cigarettes, highlighting a concerning trend that warrants societal and governmental intervention.
