UK Recalls: Asbestos Toys, Toxic Bath Bombs, Food Risks
11 Apr
Summary
- Frozen bath bomb set contains high phthalate levels posing health risks.
- Children's toys recalled due to potential asbestos contamination.
- Bresaola and dessert recalled for Listeria and plastic presence.

Urgent product recall notices have been issued across the UK this week, affecting various consumer goods and food items.
A Disney Frozen-themed bath bomb set, sold in TK Maxx and Homesense between March and June 2024, has been recalled due to a significant chemical risk. The Elsa shower puff within the set contains high levels of phthalates, which can potentially harm children's reproductive systems. The product fails to meet safety regulations.
Further recalls involve children's toys due to asbestos concerns. The HGL Stretchy Sand Monster Truck, Scrunchems Stretchies Sleepy Dino Toy, and HGL Stretchy Sand Pig have been withdrawn from sale. Consumers are advised to cease using these toys immediately and dispose of them safely.
Food Standards Agency alerts include the recall of The Curing Barn's British Bresaola because it was found to contain Listeria, a bacterium that can cause flu-like symptoms and more severe complications. Tesco Finest Summer Edition Chocolate Affogato Dessert is also recalled due to the possible presence of plastic.
Consumers in possession of any of these recalled items are strongly advised not to use them and to return them to the point of purchase for a full refund or follow specific return instructions provided by the retailers.
