Summary
- Three premature babies were born via emergency C-section at 32 weeks.

- The 32-year-old mother is clinically stable after the successful surgery.

In a remarkable medical feat, three premature babies were successfully delivered at Lloyds Kali Ammal Memorial Hospital in Etapalli taluka, Gadchiroli district. The high-risk triplet pregnancy resulted in the birth of two girls and a boy via emergency Caesarean section at 32 weeks and five days gestation.
The newborns, delivered within minutes on August 21, each had low birth weights but were immediately placed in the hospital's special newborn care unit. They are currently responding well to treatment. The 32-year-old mother, from Manger village, is also recovering well and remains in stable condition post-surgery.
Doctors had provided continuous antenatal care since March, monitoring the triplet pregnancy closely. Anticipating potential complications, they administered lung development medication and arranged for blood availability. When signs of fetal distress emerged on August 21, a multidisciplinary team performed the emergency C-section.
This case underscores the critical importance of accessible, quality healthcare, especially for high-risk pregnancies in remote regions. The hospital's commitment to serving tribal areas was highlighted by its management's commendation of the medical team's life-saving intervention.
