Allergy Alert: Trail Mix Recalled for Hidden Wheat and Soy
24 Apr
Summary
- Trail mix recalled due to undeclared wheat and soy ingredients.
- Misplaced chocolate pretzel balls replaced listed caramel ingredients.
- Affected product sold in Meijer stores across six Midwestern states.

Ferris Coffee & Nut Co. has initiated a recall for one lot of Frederik's by Meijer Vanilla Bourbon Trail Mix due to the potential presence of undeclared wheat and soy. These allergens pose a significant risk to individuals with corresponding allergies.
The recall stems from an error during production where chocolate-covered pretzel balls, containing wheat and soy, were incorrectly included instead of the advertised bourbon-flavored caramels. This deviation occurred due to a temporary lapse in the company's production and packaging processes.
The affected product, sold in nine-ounce bags, can be identified by lot number 6069-1 and an expiration date of December 10, 2026. It was distributed exclusively to Meijer stores located in Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, Michigan, Ohio, and Wisconsin.
While no illnesses have been reported to date, consumers are strongly advised to discard the recalled trail mix immediately or return it to the point of purchase for a full refund. Production of this trail mix has been halted pending confirmation from the FDA and Ferris Coffee & Nut Co. that corrective measures are in place.
