A young woman from Mathura faced a life-threatening ordeal after her clothes became entangled in a tractor wheel, resulting in severe injuries. The accident caused massive blood loss, a ruptured intestine, and a torn diaphragm, leading to her stomach and colon shifting into her chest cavity. This rare condition, seen in less than 1% of trauma cases, severely impacted her breathing and risked fatal shock.
She was brought to Sarvodaya Hospital in critical condition, exhibiting signs of hemorrhagic shock. A specialized trauma team performed an urgent three-hour surgery. During the procedure, surgeons repaired her diaphragm, repositioned the displaced organs back into her abdomen, and removed the damaged section of her intestine.
Following the surgery, the survivor received intensive care, including multiple blood transfusions. Doctors monitored her closely until her condition stabilized. She expressed profound gratitude to the medical team for their rapid intervention, which ultimately gave her a second chance at life and allowed her to resume her daily activities independently.
