A subtle head tilt in a one-year-old, initially attributed to an ear infection, was later discovered to be a symptom of a rare and aggressive childhood brain cancer. Capri's parents sought medical attention after noticing the unusual tilt and vacant look in her eye.
Following an initial misdiagnosis, a CT scan at Bedford Hospital revealed an Embryonal Tumour with Multilayered Rosettes (ETMR). Capri underwent extensive brain surgery at Addenbrooke's Hospital in Cambridge, where surgeons removed approximately 80 percent of the tumor. Further treatment was required at Alder Hey Children's Hospital.
Capri is now undergoing six rounds of intensive chemotherapy. Her parents are residing at the hospital to provide constant care and have initiated a fundraising campaign to cover associated costs. They celebrated a small Christmas at the hospital, highlighting the exceptional care provided by the medical staff.
