In a recent review meeting on Tuesday, Telangana's Health Minister, C. Damodar Raja Narasimha, convened with private hospital administrators to deliberate on crucial policy matters. The Minister stressed the importance of simplifying organ donation procedures to encourage wider participation. He articulated a vision for Telangana to become a leading state in organ transplant treatments and donation management, calling for an action plan to achieve this status. Furthermore, attention was given to the cost of organ transplant procedures, with the Minister expressing concern over existing pricing in private facilities and advocating for price controls.
Measures to ensure efficient utilization of donated organs were also a key focus, alongside the directive to frame new guidelines for international patients seeking organ transplants in Telangana.
