Summary
- Teenager raised over £6,000 for charity after heart surgery.
- The funds will help create 3D replica hearts for surgeons.
- Jasmine walked a mile daily for 26 days to fundraise.

A teenager named Jasmine, who is 14 years old and from Southampton, has successfully raised more than £6,000 for the Heartbeat charity. This organization specializes in creating 3D replica hearts that are used by the NHS.
Jasmine underwent cardiac surgery last year. Her condition was diagnosed prenatally, involving a reversal of her lower heart. The charity Heartbeat partially funds these model hearts for Southampton Children's Hospital. Surgeons use these models to practice complex operations.
To show her gratitude, Jasmine embarked on a challenge exactly one year after her surgery, on December 13, 2025. She committed to walking a mile every day for 26 days, corresponding to the number of days she spent in the hospital. This effort culminated in raising £6,203.
She expressed her hope that these funds will enable the creation of more 3D hearts, thereby improving treatment outcomes for more patients. Tanya Harder, fundraising manager at Heartbeat, stated that Jasmine's donation will significantly support initiatives like the 3D heart project and other patient support services.
Jasmine was permitted to borrow her own 3D heart model for a week. Since 2019, the hospital has produced over 100 such replicas from medical scans. Jasmine noted the model looked larger than expected. Post-surgery, she has also excelled in dance, winning competitions.
