Woman's Organs Save Four Lives in Kerala

A compassionate organ donation has provided a new lease on life for four patients in Kerala. The kidneys and corneas of a 51-year-old woman, L.P. Rajeshwari, a native of Tamil Nadu, were successfully transplanted after she was declared brain-dead at a hospital in Thiruvananthapuram.

Rajeshwari, who resided in Gopichettipalayam, Erode, was admitted to a hospital on January 17 due to severe headache and elevated blood pressure. Her condition deteriorated, leading to a cerebral haemorrhage and subsequent transfer to Thiruvananthapuram on January 18.

Despite intensive medical efforts, brain death was confirmed on January 22. Following this heartbreaking diagnosis, Rajeshwari's family selflessly chose to donate her organs, enabling the life-saving transplants coordinated by K-SOTTO.
