14 Nov
Summary
- Red wine improves cholesterol levels in diabetics
- Red wine drinkers have better blood sugar control
- Red wine also enhances sleep quality

In a recent revelation, the late Dr. Michael Mosley shared that a popular drink can provide significant health advantages. Before his passing, Mosley hosted a BBC Radio 4 series called "Just One Thing," where he discussed the surprising benefits of red wine.
In one episode, Mosley cited a 2015 study conducted in Israel. The researchers took 224 diabetic non-drinkers and randomly assigned them to consume either a medium-sized glass of red wine, white wine, or mineral water with their evening meal every night for two years. The results showed that the red wine drinkers experienced substantial improvements in their cholesterol levels and sleep quality.
The benefits did not stop there. Another study from Spain indicated that drinking red wine can enhance the body's response to insulin, allowing for quicker clearance of sugar from the bloodstream. Experts believe these findings are far from a "fluke" and demonstrate the profound impact red wine can have on overall health, particularly for those with diabetes.
