Soy Nutrient Fights Vaccine Heart Inflammation

Summary
- Two molecules from immune cells can cause heart inflammation.
- Soy-derived genistein shows promise in blocking heart damage.
- COVID infection inflammation can be ten times worse than vaccine.

Researchers have pinpointed two molecules produced by activated immune cells that can inflame heart tissue, a phenomenon observed in mice and human heart tissue experiments. This immune response, while rare, has been linked to milder heart inflammation after COVID-19 vaccinations, particularly in young men.
The inflammation caused by a COVID-19 infection can be significantly more severe, up to ten times worse than that seen after vaccination. This condition, known as vaccine-associated myocarditis, affects a small number of individuals, with most recovering fully and swiftly.
Promisingly, a soy-derived nutrient called genistein has demonstrated an ability to effectively block the harmful actions of these inflammatory chemicals in the heart. This discovery may pave the way for developing safer vaccinations in the future.
