Safe to Sip: SCoR Water Quality Verified
22 Sep
Summary
- All tested water samples met safety thresholds set by railway medical authorities.
- Extensive testing confirmed zero biological contamination from E. coli or coliforms.
- Chemical tests showed water purity within permissible safety limits for all sources.

Drinking water across the South Coast Railway (SCoR) network has been verified as completely safe for consumption. This confirmation follows an intensive week-long quality monitoring drive conducted across four divisions.
The comprehensive technical drive assessed drinking water infrastructure at 3,680 checkpoints. Official data revealed that 100% of the tested samples satisfied health and safety thresholds.
Daily testing focused on residual chlorine levels, with 3,441 distribution points meeting required chlorination standards. Furthermore, laboratory analysis of 211 samples from high-density passenger areas and medical facilities yielded zero positive tests for biological contamination, including E. coli.
Additional chemical tests for pH, TDS, and heavy metals also confirmed that all 28 samples fell strictly within permissible safety limits. Routine testing continues monthly for major facilities and bi-monthly for minor stations.
