Nicole "Snooki" Polizzi has revealed her deep regrets concerning her approach to health screenings following a diagnosis of cervical cancer. In a preview for an upcoming "Good Morning America" interview, Polizzi, 38, described her fear of doctor's appointments, which led her to postpone necessary check-ups. She now acknowledges that these preventative appointments, like a pap smear, are critical.
Polizzi is currently battling stage I adenocarcinoma of the cervix. She shared that her fear resulted in her avoiding gynecological appointments for about three to four years, despite receiving abnormal pre-cancerous results. This delay necessitated a cone biopsy and has now led to the planning of a hysterectomy.
Having previously shared her situation on TikTok in January, Polizzi urged others to stay on top of their appointments. She disclosed that she had been experiencing abnormal pap smear results for years, leading to the discovery of cancerous cells at the top of her cervix. Following a PET scan to assess the cancer's spread, she plans to undergo a hysterectomy to remove her cervix and uterus, and possibly lymph nodes.
