SMCH Hospital Marks National Newborn Week with Informative Pamphlets

Last Monday, the National Newborn Week was celebrated at the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit of the Institute of Social Paediatrics, Government Stanley Medical College Hospital (SMCH) in Chennai. As part of the event, pamphlets containing essential information on newborn care were distributed to the public to create awareness.
The pamphlets provided guidance on the dos and don'ts of newborn care, including the importance of exclusive breastfeeding for the first 180 days and following the recommended vaccination schedule. Additionally, the pamphlets highlighted the warning signs that parents should be aware of when caring for their newborns.
The event was attended by SMCH's dean, A. Aravind, who released and distributed the informative pamphlets. Professors from the Institute of Social Paediatrics were also present to clarify any doubts or questions that postnatal women had regarding newborn care.
