Vape Crackdown: Thousands Fined, Etomidate Abuse Surges

In a recent joint operation, Singaporean authorities have intensified their crackdown on illegal vaping activities. Between September and November, over 2,700 individuals were fined for general vape offenses. A significant concern arose from 257 people found in possession of vapes containing etomidate, a substance with serious health implications.

These etomidate offenders faced various consequences, including placement in rehabilitation programs, repatriation for foreigners, and jail time for unrelated offenses. Three individuals were charged for missing rehabilitation appointments, facing potential two-year jail sentences. Etomidate offenders risk fines up to $10,000 or two years imprisonment, while general vape offenders face fines up to $2,000.
