Summary
- A program supports individuals with additional needs to re-enter the workforce.
- Michael Reynolds found renewed confidence and purpose volunteering at Fordhall Farm.
- The initiative has assisted over 1,350 young people in Shropshire since 2024.

A unique employability program delivered by four charities across Shropshire has been credited with significantly improving the life of Michael Reynolds, a 27-year-old man. Following his redundancy during the coronavirus pandemic, Reynolds struggled with his mental health and confidence.
Nine months ago, he began volunteering at Fordhall Farm in Market Drayton. This experience, supported by the employability and enterprise program, provided him with a sense of purpose and a vital outlet. He engaged in various tasks, including conservation work and event setup.
Fordhall Farm's conservation lead, Alison Fowler, observed a dramatic increase in Reynolds' confidence and noted his dedication, highlighting his consistent attendance regardless of weather conditions. The initiative, launched in 2024 and funded by the Lintel Trust, aims to assist over 1,350 young individuals facing obstacles such as poor mental health and social isolation.
