- Supports schools with vending machines and awareness programs.

The Netarhat Old Boys' Association's Global Social Responsibility (NOBA GSR) has launched the Sangini Project to significantly improve menstrual hygiene among school-going girls in rural and semi-urban areas of Bihar and Jharkhand. This initiative has already positively impacted over 2 lakh girls, addressing the critical issue of menstrual hygiene which often hinders education.
Ranjan, Co-founder of NOBA GSR, highlighted that menstrual hygiene remains a significant challenge due to stigma, lack of awareness, and limited access to sanitary products. The Sangini Project tackles this by installing sanitary pad vending machines and eco-friendly incinerators in schools, complemented by awareness sessions. This approach ensures girls have access to necessary facilities and promotes dignity.
The project has supported over 700 schools, providing essential hygiene facilities and awareness programs that help reduce absenteeism during menstruation. By involving teachers, community leaders, and local groups, NOBA GSR actively works to break down long-standing taboos and encourage open discussions. This collective effort aims to foster a society that supports women's health, dignity, and confidence, demonstrating real empowerment.
In January, as part of the Sangini initiative, 12 sanitary pad dispensers and incinerators were installed in various schools in Begusarai, further extending the project's reach. The initiative emphasizes accessibility, awareness, and dignity, enabling thousands of girls to continue their education with greater comfort and confidence, marking a significant shift in social mindset.
