5 Jun
Summary
- Over 119 people sick across 36 states, with 32 hospitalized.
- TNVitamins and Doctor's Pride moringa capsules recalled.
- Investigation ongoing into supplements containing imported moringa powder.

A nationwide Salmonella outbreak, linked to dietary supplements containing moringa leaf powder, has prompted a recall of specific moringa capsules. As of May 27, 2026, 119 individuals across 36 states have been infected, with 32 requiring hospitalization. Total Nutrition Inc. has voluntarily recalled certain lots of their TNVitamins and Doctor's Pride Ultra Potent Complete Green Superfood Moringa capsules, identified by specific lot numbers.
These affected products were distributed through major online platforms including Amazon, Walmart, TikTok Shop, and Target, as well as the companies' own websites. The recall, initially announced on May 26, 2026, was expanded on June 2, 2026, as investigations continued. Consumers possessing the recalled capsules are strongly advised to stop use immediately, dispose of the product, and seek a refund from the company.
Federal health agencies, including the FDA and CDC, are actively involved in the ongoing investigation. While no deaths have been reported, Salmonella can cause severe infections, particularly in vulnerable populations. Total Nutrition Inc. has ceased sales of the implicated products and is working with authorities to remove them from all distribution channels.
