The affected white and brown cage-free eggs bear identification codes P-1950 or 0840962 with Julian dates between 157 and 184. These eggs were primarily sold at Kroger and Brookshire Grocery stores in Texas, Louisiana, Oklahoma, Arkansas, Mississippi, and New Mexico. They were also distributed to foodservice and other retailers.
Consumers possessing the recalled eggs are urged to refrain from eating them and to return the product to the point of purchase for a complete refund. Midwest Poultry Services identified the contamination through proactive monitoring. Individuals experiencing salmonella symptoms, such as diarrhea, fever, and stomach cramps, should consult a healthcare professional, especially if symptoms are severe.
