The 11-storey block will augment the hospital's existing bed count by 666. It is designed to house 18 operation theatres, 99 intensive care unit beds, and 196 high-dependency unit beds.

The facility will also be equipped with two linear accelerators for cancer treatment and a nuclear medicine department featuring PET scan capabilities.
