18 Jun
Summary
- Brothers Jordan and Cian Adams ran 32 marathons in 32 days.
- They raised £1.9 million for dementia research.
- They are set to receive freedom of their hometown, Redditch.

Brothers Jordan and Cian Adams are poised to receive the freedom of their hometown, Redditch in Worcestershire, in recognition of their remarkable fundraising achievement. The siblings recently completed a grueling challenge of 32 marathons in 32 days, successfully raising nearly £2 million for dementia research.
This significant contribution is driven by a personal connection to frontotemporal dementia (FTD). The brothers lost their mother, Geraldine, to the condition when she was just 52. Furthermore, they discovered they carry the gene linked to FTD, putting them at risk of developing the disease in their 40s. They have also mourned the loss of 12 other Irish relatives to the same illness.
The motion to award them the freedom of the borough will be put to a vote at the end of June. If approved, a formal ceremony is expected in August at Redditch's Palace Theatre, which itself may serve as a fundraising opportunity. This honor would mark only the fourth time in Redditch's history that such a distinction has been granted.
