Family members of a 25-year-old woman, Komal, have made serious allegations that her body was nibbled by rats inside the mortuary of Hisar civil hospital. The family discovered the alleged damage, described as missing skin on the forehead, when they went to collect Komal's body for a postmortem examination on Sunday morning, June 8, 2026. Komal had died on Saturday, June 7, 2026, while being transferred from Hansi civil hospital to Hisar after her condition deteriorated following a cesarean delivery. Her husband stated that she had no external injuries prior to her death. Hisar's Chief Medical Officer, Dr. Sapna Gahlaut, stated that preliminary investigations have not confirmed the allegations, but a doctor's committee has been established to conduct a thorough inquiry. The postmortem examination is underway at Agroha Medical College to determine the cause of the damage to the body.
