His father, Viet Vu, traveled from their Denver home as Justin was admitted to the intensive care unit. After extensive research, medical professionals identified the cause as Clarkson's disease, also known as systemic capillary leak syndrome. This rare condition causes plasma to leak from tiny blood vessels, potentially leading to organ failure and death if not promptly treated.
Despite the diagnosis, doctors were unable to save Justin. His parents made the difficult choice to move him to a hospital garden, where he passed away peacefully surrounded by loved ones.
