Rajasthan's health department identified 6,175 high-risk pregnant women during an intensified drive from October 1 to 19. This initiative aimed to reduce maternal deaths through enhanced monitoring and timely interventions.
Officials ensured antenatal care coverage for all identified women to facilitate early detection of complications. Key risk factors addressed included anemia, previous caesarean surgeries, and hypertension.
The sustained efforts in maternal and child health services have shown positive results, with no maternal deaths reported in 19 medical colleges and 58 district hospitals during this period.
Review meetings are now mandated twice monthly for continuous monitoring of high-risk pregnancies. The state also plans to construct modular operation theatres in 35 medical colleges by 2026-27, with hospitals preparing proposals for these upgrades.
