Hospitals throughout Rajasthan have been placed on high alert in anticipation of a severe heatwave, with directives issued to reserve beds for heat stroke patients. Cooling systems in wards and ICUs are being ensured.
Key medical facilities, including Sawai Man Singh Hospital in Jaipur and JK Lone Hospital, are implementing specific measures. These include setting up dedicated wards, reserving ICU beds, and enhancing patient and attendant comfort through shaded areas and water sprinkling. While no heat stroke cases have been reported yet, preparations are robust.
Meanwhile, the Jaipur Meteorological Centre forecasts that heatwave conditions will likely persist across most parts of Rajasthan for another week. Maximum temperatures have been recorded between 43 and 46 degrees Celsius in several areas, with Jaisalmer experiencing the highest at 46.4 degrees Celsius. Isolated thunderstorms and light rainfall might occur in the coming days due to weather system interactions.
