Rabies Death Inquiry: Family Seeks Dignity

The family of Yvonne Ford, who tragically died from rabies, is advocating for an inquest to ensure her death is handled with dignity. Mrs. Ford, aged 59, contracted the fatal illness following contact with a puppy while in Morocco.
Upon returning to the UK, she was diagnosed at Barnsley Hospital and subsequently transferred to the Royal Hallamshire Hospital in Sheffield, where she passed away on June 11. Her husband, Ronald Ford, and their children, Adam Ford and Robyn Thomson, have voiced unhappiness regarding the care she received at Barnsley.
As the pre-inquest review took place at Sheffield Medico-Legal Centre, the family reiterated their concerns. A spokesperson for Barnsley Hospital indicated that no comment could be made while the proceedings are ongoing.
